Rich Wildman

Rich Wildman is an environmental engineer who is interested in the movement and chemical reaction of contaminants in drinking water supplies, especially those that pass through reservoirs. Rich received a B.S. in chemistry from Yale and a Ph.D. in environmental science and engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He concluded his Ph.D. as a visiting student at Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology. Following his Ph.D., he completed a postdoctoral position in oceanography at Florida State University.

As a French Environmental Fellow, Rich will work with James Shine in the Harvard School of Public Health to study the transport, degradation, and toxicology of chemical contaminants during water reuse. Since reservoirs are the centerpiece of many water reuse strategies, Rich will study the degradation and toxicology of trace organic pollutants in reservoirs that receive highly treated wastewater intended for future consumptive use.
