Kin Selection and Kin Communication in Plants Symposium

Ned Friedman, Director, Arcold Arboretum, will present "Sibling Cooperation and Interparental Conflict in a Seed: How Plant Mothers, Fathers, and Siblings Behave during the Act of Reproduction in Flowering Plants. David Haig, Harvard OEB, will present "A Romp in the Sac: Bisporic and Tetrasporic Development Reconsidered." David Queller, Washington University, St. Louis, will discuss "Evolutionary Arms Races due to Kin Conflict in Arabidopsis Seeds." Harsh Bais, Universtiy of Delaware, will present "Plant Communication via Roots," and Kamal Bawa, University of Massachusetts Boston, will give concluding remarks. Free and open to the public. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
