Global Health Institute (HGHI) Anniversary Symposium
The Harvard Global Health Institute will host a day-long symposium on the fifth anniversary of the Institute. The symposium will explore the role of universities in addressing the most pressing global health challenges. Harvard President Drew G. Faust will deliver the opening remarks. The first panel discussion will feature current and past ministers of health addressing the role of universities and academic medical centers in the creation, dissemination and application of global health knowledge. The second panel, moderated by Dr. David Bangsberg, Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Global Health, will address human resources capacity building. Guest speakers will include Harvard Medical School Dean Jeffrey Flier, Professor Sue J. Goldie, and Professor Paul Farmer, among other global health leaders at the University.
