Special Disease Ecology Seminar
The Planetary Health Alliance (PHA) invites you for a Special Disease Ecology Seminar with Felicia Keesing, Bard College, who will discuss "The Ecology of Infectious Diseases: A study of tick-borne pathogens."
Keesing is a community ecologist who studies how interactions among species influence the probability that humans will be exposed to infectious diseases. Keesing’s disease research has primarily focused on three tick-borne diseases: Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and babesiosis. She is particularly interested in how species diversity affects pathogen transmission.
Free and open to the public. Reception to follow.
