WEBINAR

Climate Justice is Social Justice: How to Build Equitable Climate Movements

All are invited to a discussion with Colette Pichon Battle, 2019 Obama Fellow and Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy (GCCLP), who will discuss her experiences as a climate activist, and a woman of color in leadership positions throughout her professional life. Moderated by Rand Wentworth, HKS, and hosted by the Center for Public Leadership at HKS.

Battle is an attorney, advocate, and alliance builder who creates multi-racial regional alliances and served as a lead coordinator for Gulf South Rising, a regional initiative around climate justice in the South. In addition to leading advocacy initiatives that intersect with race, systems of power, and ecology, Battle manages GCCLP's legal services and maintains her legal specialization in disaster and immigration law. She was named a 2019 Obama Fellow for her efforts organizing for black and native climate justice and collaboration in the Gulf South.
