Science is the cornerstone of environmental studies and plays a vital role in setting the direction of public policy and dialogue on environmental issues. Scientists currently are devising solutions to some of the most vexing environmental dilemmas of our time, such as global climate change, energy alternatives, loss of biodiversity, the role of biotechnology, and ecosystem preservation. This section will eventually bring together resources on pressing scientific issues to provide a scientific foundation for an increasingly interdisciplinary environmental field.

The following pages include: a topical bibliography, a selected bibliography, general and subject science links, and additional essays.

Future additions to this section will include: an overview paper and an exploration of several key environmental issues (listed below).
