“Daoist Cultivation”
Traditional Models and Contemporary Practices
Camp Sealth, Vashon Island
May 9–13, 2001


First conceived by Harrison Moretz, Liu Ming, Livia Kohn, and Louis Komjathy at the Harvard University Daoism and Ecology Conference, this invitational Daoist Cultivation Conference brings scholars and practitioners together to discuss and experience different forms of Daoist cultivation. The conference format includes summaries of papers, scheduled meditative practices, hikes, and rests, as well as formal and informal discussions and question periods.

Publication of a volume based on this conference is scheduled for release in 2003. The volume, edited by Livia Kohn and Louis Komjathy, is tentatively titled, Daoist Cultivation: Traditional Models and Contemporary Practices.
