Alan M. Berger is a professor of landscape architecture and urban design at MIT. He is the founding director of MIT's P-REX lab, a research lab focused on environmental problems caused by urbanization, including the design, remediation, and reuse of waste landscapes worldwide. His research interests include: landscape architecture, environmental planning, urban design, transportation, energy, future mobility, reclamation and reuse of brownfields and superfund sites, as well as geospatial mapping, analysis, and aerial reconnaissance of landscape externalities.
