David W. Cash
David W. Cash is Dean and Associate Professor of the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Formerly, he was Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). Prior to this role, he held the position of Commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DOU) where he helped lead efforts to modernize the grid, expand the deployment of energy efficiency and renewable energy and empower customers in their energy decisions. Prior to his work at the DPU, Dr. Cash was the Undersecretary for Policy in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA). In this role, Dr. Cash advised the EEA Secretary on an array of issues, including climate change, energy, land management, water management, oceans, wildlife and fisheries, air and water quality, environmental and energy dimensions of transportation and waste management. Prior to working for the Commonwealth, Dr. Cash was a research associate at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Lecturer in Environmental Science and Public Policy.
